the locker project

The Locker Project connects food-insecure children in Maine with nourishing food to improve their learning capacity, health, and future. We take a whole family approach to child hunger, with programs that strive to be low barrier, stigma-free, and environmentally responsible. With the help of our many community partners, the Locker Project distributes staples as well as donated and rescued fresh food to more than 40 preschools, schools and neighborhood sites in Cumberland County.

 

Friends of deering Oaks

The Friends of Deering Oaks is a non-profit citizen organization committed to preserving, protecting and enhancing the physical condition of Portland's historic Deering Oaks Park and promoting its use by residents and visitors.
