Join us in Deering Oaks Park for our final free lantern making workshop before the Portland Lantern Walk!

New this year! We want to see your lantern inspirations! We’ll have plenty of art supplies on hand but we need your containers. Please bring a recycled bottle, mason jar, clear container - just about anything anything you want to transform into a gorgeous lantern! We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

For the fourth straight year, the PMA collaborates with the Portland Lantern Walk for a special lantern-making Family Day, and this year, kids and adults can draw inspiration from Jeffrey Gibson’s People Like Us on view in Open-Ended: New Acquisitions.

Explore the exhibition for color, shape, and pattern inspiration and then create your light sculpture, just in time for the Annual Lantern Walk in Deering Oaks Park.
